THE EXHIBITION DALÍ SPELLBOUND: A SURREALIST JOURNEY IN MUNICH
On Thursday, February 1, 2024, the prestigious Philharmonic Hall of Munich hosted the grand opening of the exhibition “Spellbound”, centered around the eponymous scenography—a majestic and monumental painting created in 1945 by Salvador Dalí for Alfred Hitchcock’s film “Spellbound”.
Curated by Beniamino Levi, President of The Dalí Universe, and conceived and executed by Phantasya Communication under the artistic direction of Creative Director Roberto Pantè, the exhibition offered an immersive journey into the dreamlike world of Salvador Dalí. Featuring a collection of original works by the Catalan master—sculptures, sketches, graphics, and lithographs—many of which were designed for the revolutionary dream sequence in the Oscar-winning 1945 film, the exhibition celebrated the union of art and cinema, bringing an unprecedented dimension to Hitchcock’s masterpiece.
The spectacular and imposing “Spellbound” scenography took center stage at the Philharmonic, enchanting visitors as they continued their journey through visual effects, holograms, and soundscapes. The immersive experience concluded in a virtual space within the Metaverse, plunging attendees into Dalí’s fantastic and surreal world.
